Special Education

I have been teaching special education since 2011. I'm very excited to be teaching here at Anthem School. I have worked with elementary students of all age levels and abilities, but am very excited to be working with kindergartners through second graders this year. I am looking forward to helping students build a strong foundation for learning.

I am a local Anthem resident so you may see me around town.  I enjoy yoga, camping, and attempting to garden in the desert. I also spend time volunteering with a local Anthem church. I graduated with an A.S. degree in 2006 and completed another learning milestone of a B.A. degree in 2024. I was drawn to a career in education because of my desire to help others develop a love for learning. My lifelong journey of learning continues even now with a continuing education programs offered by DVUSD. 

I am excited to work with an amazing group of students on individual education plans to help them reach new educational achievements.

I began teaching special education in 2017. My first career was as a Therapeutic Recreation Specialist. I am excited to be part of the Anthem School staff.

In my free time I like to do chainsaw carving. I decorate my classroom with my work and the students really seem to enjoy it. 

I have over 15 years of  teaching experience in Early Childhood Education and am passionate about helping students reach their full potential. Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of working with learners with a wide range of abilities, fostering inclusive, supportive, and engaging learning environments where every student can succeed.

As an Anthem resident, I am proud to be part of the Anthem School community. My family and I enjoy spending time together, especially playing golf.

I am honored to be a member of the Special Education team at Anthem School and am excited to work alongside our dedicated staff, students, and families. I look forward to helping students build their academic, social, and life skills while celebrating their individual strengths and achievements.
