About the Teacher
I have been teaching at Anthem School since 21' and have had such an amazing time building up the music program here!
Students K-4 will get to see me on a rotating schedule where we get to learn everything about music! We learn to read music, listen to music, play instruments and have fun while doing it!
5th-8th grade students will come to see me depending on if they have signed up for Band or Choir and what time their grade level has specials.
5th grade is about learning the basics of band and choir. Choir students will learn how to sing with a proper tone/ how to read music. While the band students get to learn how to hold and play their instruments while reading music!
6th Band/Choir builds from 5th grade and I increase the difficulty on music and content learned. Students also get to see me more frequently throughout the week. Choir is twice a week and band is three times a week
7th/8th grade combined band and choir is the advanced group. I have the pleasure of seeing the kids every day of the week. This is where we learn music and techniques that help make them the best musicians possible!
These students will have a lot more performances throughout the school year with District Assessments and Feeder night performances.
Band and choir students will have regular assignments where they need to practice at home. Make sure they have a quiet place to practice and if possible purchase a music stand for them.
Whether your kid has been in band/choir for a while or wants to get started all students are welcome no matter the skill level!

And consider making a tax credit donation to either band or choir! The money will be used to purchase new music, pay for guests to work with the kids, instrument repairs and general supplies.
